Half Marathon Finish

Running Accomplishments:

Maybe someday I'll have something noteworthy to post in this section. I have only completed three 5ks and a 5 miler; all at an average pace somewhere in the 9:00-9:30min/mile range

Painter's Half 2010 - 2:03:54

Short-Term Running Goals:

Painter's Half Marathon - would like to keep an average pace of 9:00min/mile.

Painter's Half - Went over my goal and finished in 2:03:54 :( It was my first half though.  I had a great time and learned what I need to work on.

Salt Lake Half Marathon - would like to finish in under 2 hours.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Would like to complete a full marathon in the fall of 2010 and finally conquer the Herriman Hill...to be honest, there are several hills in Herriman I'd love to conquer, but that one for sure!

Personal:

I am a stay-at-home mother, married and have two young boys.

My husband let me sleep in this morning (he woke up with the kids) AND watched the boys while I ran outside! Hooray for no treadmill today!

7.0 miles around Herriman this morning. It was surprisingly warm and sunny today. I was definitely dressed too warmly. I found out that I still struggle with hills, not only while climbing the hill, but after. It's like my legs are too tired to keep my average pace. I need to start sprinting up the hills in my neighborhood at least once a week so that my legs can get used to them.  Maybe I will try and attempt that next week.

Off to an early Valentine's dinner.  Stinks that he has to work next weekend but at least we won't have to fight the crowds!

Nice run! That rosecrest hill you did (noted from Kelli's blog) is a GREAT one to work on, because it constantly keeps you going, gives you a short recovery then pushes you again! When I first moved here I thought "Some day I'm going to run up that hill!" now I do it all the time!!

You're doing GREAT and are going to do an awesome job this summer/fall season!!

I also got uncomfortably warm on Saturday, it kind of surprised me when the sun came out!

Glad you got in a great outdoor run after some SLEEP! Hope the dinner went well, where did ya go?

We went to Rodizio Grill, one of those Brazilian steakhouses. We had been to Tucano's before and really liked it, but I didn't think Rodizio's was that great. All of our meat was extremely salty and overcooked. Oh well! You live and you learn. At least we got a night out alone!

We LOVE Rodizio Grill!! BUT we discovered that Tucanos was cheaper and just as good. Our meat has always been good, maybe it was a bad night??? You should sign up online at Tucanos, you get a free meal the month of your Birthday there. We are going in 2 weeks and I can not wait! I LOVE IT! Of course all I eat is the pineapple, bacon wrapped turkey, and the parmesan veggies. I am not a huge meat eater.
